In the middle of the green yet right in the middle of Essen: The Sheraton Hotel Essen is situated in the city center next to the city park. The Ruhr metropolis was and is shaped by the mining industry, which one can experience in various ways not only in the city but also, with regard to the specific brand, within the hotel rooms.
Thus among other elements, the carpet was designed based on a coalbed which one can find in diverse variations within the building. This unique symbiosis of past and present conveys a sense of this exceptional place within the heart of the Ruhr region.
