Gendarmerie | Berlin

The Gendarmerie city-center restaurant is situated in a former bank building in the Behrenstraße, right next to the Gendarmenmarkt, and located in the middle of Berlin’s historic center. The trendy and stylish atmosphere with its artistic facets is a homage to our capital. Already when entering the restaurant one is greeted by the “gendarme”, a lead-covered wooden figure that had been specifically crafted for the gendarmerie.

In the restaurant itself one finds the world’s largest wood relief, the “Bacchanal” by artist Jean-Yves Klein. The restaurant’s arrangement combines a stylish atmosphere with a modern flair. In addition, the dark wooden tables and corresponding dark-brown leather chairs are emphasized with colorful features on the wall in pink and orange. Importance was placed on indirect and pleasant lighting.
